Hi all! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend, and you've had some great times with family and friends. The season is far from over. So keep on your fitness and diet toes folks! This season can make you or break you.

Have you ever heard of Nutraceuticals? Nutraceuticals, a term combining the words “nutrition” and “pharmaceutical”, is a food or food product that supposedly and are advertised to provide health and medical benefits, including the prevention and treatment of disease. Such products may range from isolated nutrients, dietary supplements and specific diets to genetically engineered foods, herbal products, and processed foods such as cereals, soups, and beverages.

Now, in our quest for the Magic Weight Loss, Fitness and Health Bullet, we as Americans last year spent $86 Billion on these items while spending only $19.5 Billion on Fitness (health clubs, training, etc.)

If these are so much better and a QUICK and EASY way of getting to our goals and wants, then why has overweight and obese numbers gone up and continue to go up. And why are we getting sicker from weight related illnesses? 68 of us are overweight and 34% are considered obese. More people will die in 2020 of weight related illnesses than smoking claims.

"Oh, Fitness is too expensive and takes too much time", but we've spent over 4 times the amount on the Magic Pill. You do it at the store, at the local vitamin store, at the counter of a health food shop, all over. We do it daily and we even drive to go there to get it, spending as much time on getting the Magic Pill that will fix us rather than taking that time and actually doing something about it.

People who train here, know that with some work and persistence, their whole world can change. From what they can do, to how they are treated, right down to how they see themselves, physically and emotionally. Every week it seems lists of these Nutraceuticals are being pulled from shelves. These supposed Miracle concoctions aren't even healthy in some instances. Unfortunately, we don't know which is or isn't good for us. We rely on their intense marketing and advertising to tell us what to do.

When cavemen first roamed the earth, they adapted to be able to hunt, gather, jump, run, fight. They ate the essentials, and used their bodies regularly. Our bodies to this day are still built to do that. We just haven't used them enough to really know what our potential is. A pill, powder, boxed item will never get you there...only YOU can do that. You can change your body, your mental focus, attitude, and it will even give you 30 - 60 minutes 2 or 3 times a week that you can call your own for doing something positive for yourself. No one can argue that doing something like exercise is taking away something, but rather gives back.
