First off, I'm going to start a fitness support group on Saturday's. Weight Watchers gives you support for food, I'll give you support for fitness. Whether you come here or not for sessions...come down Saturdays at 12:00pm and I'll try and fire everyone up for the upcoming week. I'll check your weight, and show you all a new exercise for the week. I'll explain why you should want to get moving, and how it will benefit you. It's $10 per week, and who knows, maybe we'll get in a little workout as well. So be prompt. I hope to see you all here. Give me your cell phone number and I'll send out motivating texts like, Put down the bagel!! No, just kidding...but I believe in what I do, and I want you all to have some sort of support and motivation to start your week...so come on down.

Ok, so I hear folks everyday talking about getting into shape, losing weight, changing their bodies, but I don't know if they know they can actually, CHANGE their bodies. We can all do it with some determination, and the WANT to do it...that's what I want to talk about today...Want Vs. Need.
We should all start changing out minds. About everything. Seriously. We need stuff all the time. We need to do things. But let me ask you something...if you look around your house, in your backyard, in your driveway, even at our credit card bills, what did you find you did more than anything when you made a decision to do something. Was it something you needed, or did you sneak in those things you wanted, and held off on the things you needed?
It's human nature. We NEED to do things, but when we get that thing we WANT in our head, we'll figure out a way to do it, sometimes sacrificing the need. Yeah, right...Not You!! LOL..Not Me! :)
Want, is a very powerful thing. So, lets start wanting more things. So many of you NEED to lose weight, or get in shape, or exercise in some way, shape, or form. We all do. But the mind set shouldn't be the need...if you WANT to do it, you will. That's what drives most people in here. The ones that need to, and have that in their heads, they don't last long...here, or anywhere. The ones that WANT to do this, well, some are still with me after 2 years.
You want to lose the weight, you want to change your body, you do. When we look in the mirror, we all say..Hmmm...I need to lose some weight, or I need to work on my glutes, or I need to tone my body. You'll get dressed, and you'll forget about that need.
But if you say, I want to lose weight, I want to get my glutes in bikini shape, or I want to tone my whole body, you'll probably jump on the computer and find out where to start. Hopefully, when you do, you'll see Fitness By the Bay and get that AH HAA moment and come right down. :)
I hope you want to be in better shape, healthier, and a positive role model for your kids and the people around you. If you want it, you'll do it...I know you will. I want you to, want to.
We should want to teach our kids how to stay fit as well. I have a client whose 4 year old daughter said, "Mommy, you know what I do every morning before I come out of my room? I do pushups, side steps, squats, dips and then I come out". She does some of the exercises at home with her daughter, and now her daughter gets the benefit. Now they BOTH WANT to do it. And that little girl is forming a great foundation for herself as she gets older. She'll have an understanding of what should be done, and she'll want to do it! Congrats Heather on teaching your daughter a great lesson, and getting her to want to do it.
So, if you WANT to change your body, change your mind first. Stopping saying you need to be healthier, or fitter, or lighter...and starting saying you want to. If you WANT, I'll be here to help you out with it.
Do it for 180 minutes out of the 10,080 minutes in your week, and you'll find you want to do even more as you see and feel results. You'll want to get new clothes, your significant other will want to encourage you more. You're peers will want to know how you did it and want to do it themselves.
